Rob Howarth

Position: Operations Director  

With over 20 years of construction experience, Rob was appointed as Operations Director of VolkerMarine Services in 2023. Rob is also responsible for our specialist piling business, VolkerGround Engineering.

Rob is responsible for implementing strategies for securing future work, without compromising safety or quality. He oversees our projects to ensure that objectives are clearly defined, agreed and delivered safely within the time, cost, sustainability and quality constraints.

Chris Shorrock

Position: Marine Technical Manager 

Chris joined VolkerMarine Services as marine technical manager in 2019. With over 30 years' experience working in corporate, SME and Ministry of Defence environments and serving as a chartered naval architect; Chris joined the business after a four-year period working in ship building in Canada.

With an ever-expanding fleet of LinkfloteTM pontoons, Chris is responsible for developing the marine business stream, and the sale and hire of the VolkerMarine Service LinkfloteTM pontoon system.

Matthew Kellly

Position: Commercial Manager

Matthew has managed the commercial aspects of VolkerStevin projects for the past 20 years, across a variety of projects and frameworks using various forms of contract, ranging in value up to £25 million.

Since being appointed as VolkerMarine Services commercial manager, Matthew has been responsible for the commercial and financial management of VolkerMarine Service projects and hire business.

As a qualified quantity surveyor, with experience in commercial and engineering disciplines, Matthew has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of risk and change management and considerable contractual arrangements expertise.

Tony Price

Position: Marine Delivery Manager 

Tony returned to VolkerMarine Services in 2021, having previously worked for the business as a fabrication production manager. Within his new role as marine delivery manager, Tony oversees and manages the production of new build pontoons and the delivery of projects.  

With a wide range of experience in welding, fabrication, construction, managing fabrication workshops and site delivery of fabricated steel and pontoon projects, Tony will also be responsible for maintaining our CE accredited production processes in the workshop.

Liam Yeldrem

Position: Graduate Engineer

Liam joined VolkerMarine Services as a graduate engineer in 2020 after leaving University with a 1st class honours degree in Civil Engineering. Working in the marine department Liam works on many aspects of the operations for the business, from working on tenders and dealing with clients, to helping plan and manage hire jobs as they go to site.

 Continuing his professional development, Liam is now working towards becoming a chartered engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers
